About the Coach House

This 3-star Visit England rated cottage is ideal for one or two persons. The accommodation is split across two levels, with the first floor living room and kitchen offering superb views of the surrounding fields and woodland hills. The cottage is tastefully decorated with pictures and ornaments throughout to help provide a home-from-home atmosphere.

 

The accommodation comprises:

  • One ground-floor double bedroom with a super-king bed that can be made into twin beds by arrangement.

  • First-floor living room with dining area, double sofa, HD Smart television and a log burner for cosy nights in.

  • Fully fitted kitchen.

  • Shower room.

Other benefits:

  • Hyperfast broadband (B4RN) for guest use.

  • A cot, high chair and stair gate can be provided on request.

  • Pets are welcome by prior agreement but please note that we are unable to accommodate cats.

  • Electric blankets are fitted to the beds.

The Cottage
Booking Information
  • A minimum 5-night stay is preferred.

  • Once you have found availability, please complete the booking form.

  • A deposit of £50 per week will secure the booking, but may not be refunded if the holiday is cancelled and time/circumstances do not allow it to be re-let.

  • Payment is taken in the form of cash, a cheque or via BACS.

  • Please make cheques payable to Jennifer Farmer.

  • All deposits and booking dates will be confirmed in writing directly after the deposit is received.

  • The balance is due on arrival.

  • The change-over day is typically Saturday.

  • The letting period is from 2pm on the day of arrival until 11am on the day of departure.

  • The cottage is open year-round.

  • We are pet friendly, subject to prior agreement. Please note that we are unable to accommodate cats.

Key Information & Accessibility
  • The nearest shops are in Kendal which is seven miles away with numerous shops, pubs, restaurants and petrol stations for stocking up on provisions. Milk is not delivered.

  • There is no mobile phone signal at the cottage or in the valley, a telephone box 200 yards from the cottage and the number at the main house (01539 823 686) may be used as a contact number in case of emergency.

  • The cottage is on a filtered, private spring water supply.

  • Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage.

  • Hall to the upper floor with an open staircase.

  • The carport to the hall is one step, with an 8cm (3 inches) riser

  • Hall to bedroom two steps, each with a 17cm (6.5 inches) riser

  • Hall to bathroom one step with a 5cm (2 inches) riser

  • Hall to upper floor open staircase with 13 steps, each with a 20cm (8 inches) riser
